Ilaria Preato

My name is Ilaria, class of 1995, born and raised in the province of Verona.

I have always drawn since I was a child (like the majority of people in the industry) and already in primary school I was determined to enter an art institute, which I did, entering with the intention of becoming a stylist and leaving as a picture decorator. Here my academic journey came to a halt.

For a few years I locked my papers and paints in a cupboard, until the passion became so strong that I realised it was time to start again; for years I have been creating colourful portraits on paper, with watercolours and various inks.

In 2022, I finally decided to buy an iPad and a pen to start working digitally. This breakthrough, combined with my new passion for role-playing games, triggered another thing I had wanted to learn for a long time: drawing fictional characters, fantasy and otherwise. 

I am still learning and experimenting, but I am getting better thanks to those who follow me on Instagram: we create characters together, which I then draw and make available to those who want to use them in games and write stories about them. I started this experience with Casa Ailus to further enrich my personal artistic journey.
